About This Lesson

This activity is designed for students to understand the difference between market and command economy. They are given different resources and directions that mirror what each economy is like while they are producing goods. They will then examine the results each "economy" had on the students’ motivation, good production, quality and quantity.
The students are evaluated using Common Core writing standards for grades 11 and 12. You will need basic arts and crafts supplies for this assignment (bare minimum needed= paper, pencils, colored pencils)

Fun lesson. I don't tell the kids what we are doing. Just that they are drawing. At the end, I tell them how they earn points. The market kids get mad because they are graded on quality. command kids are happy.
