About This Lesson
Biodiversity is important for maintaining the health and beauty of our planet’s ecosystems and for ensuring the survival of all species, including humans. Countries with tropical rainforests are areas of high biodiversity, and also high human population growth. In this activity, students use exercises in probability to demonstrate the value of biodiversity and the impact human population growth can have on the variety of species in two different forest ecosystems.
