Timeline of World War I

About This Lesson

This is a timeline of the causes, events during, and aftermath of World War I. It includes directions for students to annotate the timeline for the 5 causes of WWI - MANIA (militarism, alliances, nationalism, imperialism, and assassination). At the end is a questions asking students to make a claim about which cause they think was the most influential in starting World War I. Then there is a timeline of the events of the war, followed by a questions asking students which event was most influential in causing Germany and Austria-Hungary to sign the armistice to end the war.
