About This Lesson

This lesson plan examines the contributions of women of the Civil Rights Movement, including Coretta Scott King, Ella Jo Baker, and Dorothy I. Height. It is Part II of a three-part comprehensive unit plan.

It features the National Visionary Leadership Project's unprecedented collection of video history interviews with African American pioneers by Dr. Camille Cosby and Renee Poussaint; a timeline of the Civil Rights Movement; and a wealth of primary source materials, including photographs, speeches, and historical documents.
