Motion and forces with body and air pucks

This is an introduction to the topics of motion and forces. For motion, speed and direction is introduced, and described with an arrow. The students then as a group, follow arrows shown on screen and move around the room (like square dancing) to get a physical feel of the direction and speed. For fo More…rces, after a brief discussing about how force is needed to change motion, they predict the direction of force needed to speed up/ slow down and turn an object. They then practice this by making an air puck or a ball follow a prescribed path (made with tape) on the ground.
