About This Lesson

PowerPoint to stimulate short, 10-minute creative writing tasks for 6th to 8th gradeers. Students express their ideas free from the burden of long, seemingly endless tasks. Develop momentum weekly – with reluctant students enjoying it by the end. Extendable into longer writing tasks; or use for drama-based activities.

Great range of activities, very useful and creative! Thank you. Although not sure about the 'what will God eat for breakfast' one- especially for children who come from religious backgrounds. Just a thought.

have used this many times, and added a few slides of my own in the same format fit in with different topics. Students love it, and so do I. Thank you.

I'm sure to get each student ready to put pencil to the paper with these great strategies to have them recall, describe and express their ideas and thoughts.

I think it's a great resource. There are a couple of typos though: "Were where you?" is one.

Great resource. You could extend by having students take a picture and write their own prompt to add to the slideshow.

I will use a few of these prompts; however, whoever created these prompts needs to correct misspellings and errors in grammar.

I think this is an excellent tool to get the students interested in both writing and thinking about what and why they are writing.

I like the inventiveness of these. I have some problems with it. How can thr six different sets of tasks be organized soI could cut and laminate them for durability?

It's a great idea, but there are so many spelling and grammar issues it's hard to focus on the information being presented.
