About This Lesson
Common Core Language Standard L.3.1: Form and use the simple (e.g., I walked; I walk; I will walk) verb tenses. This printable targets the above Common Core standard. Students are given definitions of simple present, past, and future verb tenses along with examples. This introduction is followed by two exercises. The first exercise requires students to draw a line under the verb(s) in twenty sentences and then identify the sentence as past, present, or future tense. The second assignment requires students to use a given verb in a certain tense in their own original sentence.
