About This Lesson

This can easily be modified for any grade/population. The obvious: Helps you identify easily the “leaders”, the “shy”, etc. Gives you one on one time with the students and gets them out of their chairs. Students have to use a little strategy to fill-in all spaces using the other students’ names only once. Lots of fun after the activity: “Who has more than ten names? Raise your hand if you were born in January? in February?

Great and easy to use or to adapt according to the size of your group!

This is a great ice breaker, but I'd use with older students--at least middle school. A debriefing of the activity is crucial, particularly about how our impressions can be biased.
